Subject: RE: feeding barley to fat cattle

Missouri

Barley has been used in Show Steer rations over the years and is said to cause the fat to feel different when a judge handles the steer, can't remember may also been trick used in the carcass contest.  This is old trick, has been used for years.  Maybe someone else can expand on how it changes the structure of fat.  Rolled is the correct answer.  Do remember everything about it was positive.
