Slow learner - 6/15/2020 22:05
Itchy - 6/15/2020 09:07 I just bought a pork roast at the grocery and paid $2.69 per lb. I don't know how many roasts you get out of a fat hog, but seems plenty high to me.
Really? How much shopping do you do? Meet for $2.69 a lb sounds cheap to me. What would be a fair price in your minds eye?

$2.69 for pork roast sounds cheap unless you know what the pork cutout market is.     Then it sounds like both producers and consumers are getting the shaft from the retailers.

The avg wholesale price of the meat from entire hog is currently $65.46/cwt       Pork roast is not one of the high $ cuts.    There is a lot of markup in that price.
