I can identify with getting the "restaurant runs" after eating in a restaurant. It seems to happen more than I like.
On the meals on wheels issue I don't think you are doing any harm there with your handling of the food. But I too have a wife who is always worried about food sitting out and worrying about food poison, and after 55 years I think I just have to shut up and live with the situation.
I think that restaurant thing is from the oil or liquid butter they (paint) the toast with in the kitchen
Also think you lucky to have made 55 years being married to a home maker instead of a dingbat, that serves you potato salad after it sat on the picnic table for 6 hours in 95 degree weather
If you have ever had real food poisoning, you'll understand why anything not straight out of the can while scare you for the next 2 weeks
