The subsidized multi peril policy is cheap as dirt. You don’t have weather? If you have drought, wind hail or floods, it’s a no brainer. If you are rich, why take the chance for a handful of dollars per acre.
Some places it isn't super cheap. But yes a agree in much of the Midwest it's dirt cheap. I like coup because he posts great info. Super jealous of his insurance rates. Our county is high risk I guess.... Usally to wet... So we pay about the same for 70 percent on 150 corn as nice ground areas do for 85 percent on 210 but corn. But it is reflected in our rents. So prob a wash.(Our land prices to buy are decoupled from ag...prices for rec) |
