TheGleaner - 5/26/2020 01:41 JD never had those lines either, they never really created a line either, they bought into it. IH from it's beginning had a truck line(that was the best selling truck until after the second war) and a construction line that wasn't anything to laugh at in it's heyday, and gave birth to the much copied Scout. Then even to the "end" of IHC they still were beating Ford and GMC in trucks(and everyone else, sales in Medium through severe duty) and to still be the only truck manufacturer that isn't part of a conglomerate, that's something. Can't say that about Mack, Ford who doesn't have a heavy truck line, GMC who is the same, Volvo, white, freightshaker, Kenworth, or peterbuilt.

So JD never once created a line of any type of AG and Construction machinery on their own?????  If you do some research you will find IH bought out several companies to create a full of machinery too.  Last time I checked IH themselves was made up of 5 companies merging together.  And that construction was so legendary they are still around today unlike Case and JD.  Maybe some of that R&D money they spend trying to compete with Cat could have been used to develop a tractor in the early 70s that didn't have a TA or had a clean sound proof cab.  But they didn't.  They had to wait until everybody else had one.  Their trucks use to be extremely popular too like you said but they have fallen off pretty bad.
