Yes, variable rate everything. Like article said you need good data, which to me means as much detail as possible, not simple or quick & easy. Lots of ways to go backwards or blow positive roi. It takes work and commitment, it's not like writing a check for autosteer and turning it on and sitting back in the seat and reaping the rewards.

Fertility is so much more than just a number on a lab report. It's needs to be plant available. Both in quantity and rate of recovery at certain times. Differences in ph, o.m., cec are the first places to look. Relationships, antagonisms, synergies coupled with yield environments. Sometimes limiting factors are very obvious, other times its knowing and finding the very subtle quirks in an otherwise seemingly "no variation" soil.
