We raise a bunch butternut may work good for you , you can peel and cook much easier to get the rind-skin off , for flavor customers here really like Sweet Mama its a Kabocha type looks just like a buttercup except slightly larger , we like it in our house , my favorite is sunshine orange squash hard rind stores forever
