| Glad to hear you turned down the gain. I've found -55dbm (+/- 10)is the sweet spot. Regardless of the signal you will always need 20dbm between signal and noise.
Can I presume you have the radio in Station mode since that is factory stock.
How about the IP? you leave it at 192.168.1.20? If so you need to be sure your router's range for DHCP doesn't include that.
Most routers are set to hand out DHCP IPs from 192.168.1.2 through 192.168.1.254
It is very unlikely you will have 253 devises on your local network. How many computers, laptops and smart phones do you have?
Log into you router and set the DHCP on your LAN to 192.168.1.100 through 192.168.1.200
This way your computer will never had out the 192.168.1.20 that is hard coded into your radio.
