This technology was called "power line" but is also referred to as "home plug". It is a standardized specification so you can mix and match with various manufactures.
I'd suggest this item: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=21514
As it includes a WiFi hotspot.
Here is some of the marketing materials:
"The netis® 300 Mpbs AV600 Wireless Powerline Adapter PL7622 Kit combines a wireless unit PL7622 and a wired unit PL7600. It turns your existing electrical wiring into a high speed wireless network without extra wires or drilling into the wall. The adapters require no configuration. Simply plug them into your power outlets and you can establish a wireless network with speeds up to 300 Mbps in a snap."
Don't worry about the various Mbps ratings. You can view security cameras in HD with as little as 8Mbps. Curremntly there is no real world difference between 1,000Mbps and 100Mbps to the end users.
