Subject: Merlin Grimes Auctions

The Grimes ground over here by Alden sold on Tuesday. Went way CHEAP!!!!!!
The 4000 head feedlot and 380 acres went for $800/A. 130A under water with alfafla/tricicale mixed and about 200 A of scrub ground behind the lot. Might be able to raise rye to graize. One stand alone quarter pivot 130A under water with a standing wheat crop $1490/A. 552A, 2 pivots, 130A under water and 155A under water the rest rough scrub ground, planted to triticalce brought $875/A. It was all bought one guy out of the Great Bend area that has a lot of oilfield production. 13 cents per head of capicity for a feedlot is pretty cheap, especially when you get some farm ground with it. There was another feedlot up at Lyons that sold with some ground the same day, dont know what it brought. This is all super sandy ground within 1 mile of the Arkansas River, so the water is good, soil is marginal. The sale on Monday brought way less than they were expecting as well. Dont know the particluar numbers as of yet.
