Subject: boosting metabolism 2 video's

Thanks.

That is our standard eating pattern now. Eat lunch and supper but skip breakfast. We change that up once in a while as the wife had a hankering for eggs and bacon and we did have a big breakfast yesterday and skipped lunch. But that was the first time in several weeks that we actually ate at breakfast time. Usually if we feel like a breakfast type meal we eat it at lunch.

Even if people didn't change their diet (still ate lots of sugar and carbs and processed food) but did two simple things, skip breakfast and do no snacking in between meals, they would greatly improve their insulin sensitivity and very likely lose body fat. Of course changing the diet would help even more, but not eating all day long (thereby keeping insulin levels high all day long) would be a good step in the right direction.

The problem with that is that carbs/sugar makes a person hungry a couple hours after consuming them. That makes it harder to avoid snacking all day long because a person gets hungry.

Fat and protein in the absence of carbs/sugar keeps a person satiated. Being not hungry makes it easy to skip a breakfast or other meal.

So diet change along with time restricted feeding is the most powerful combination.

Hormones are in control of both our hunger and how much energy our body relatively "burns".

How keto boosts your metabolism with Dr Ben Bikman (my favorite diabetes researcherhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1WjCOD_8to

Key takeaway. Don't fear protein on a low carb ketogenic diet. High insulin levels equals low metabolic rate. Keep insulin levels low to lose body fat. Carbs raise insulin levels.

Edit: have not watched this one yet (tonight) but with Bikman and Berry making it it has to be good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVamL8FlaR0
