Don't know about your specific situation. "Here" my wife had a partial mastectomy a couple of years ago, followed by 33 radiation treatments. Then she had to have a herniated disc fixed. We have the crappy ACA almost insurance (Ambetter). Bills started piling up for the followup to her breast cancer. Surgical oncologist, regular oncologist, anesthesiologist, mammograms, etc. I told her to send each on $5 or $10 a month. That would keep it out of collections. Got to the end of the year last year and her surgical oncologist office cut a deal. Something like 40% off to clear it up before the end of the year. Don't know if that will work for you or not.
