Sad reality is the old people around here are truly the pillars holding up society. We can't afford to lose to many of them at once. A good share of them take care of their kids, and their kids kids, and their kids kids kids. Imagine having to pay daycare instead of dropping off kids at gramma ma's house? Having to buy and pay to keep up your own house up instead of 10 people living off gramma ma's social security check in the same house. Having to have multiple cars to get to work instead of mom or gramma taking you to the store. A huge population in the country can't afford to inherit a free house or car because they've never had a stable income to "own" these types of things. Grandmas pension and social security stops when she dies of coronuvirus. That would be a huge deal for millions who count on their parents for survival long before any of this ever happened.

People that fail to produce functional adult offspring for three generations in a row aren’t what come to mind when I think of pillars of society. Quite the opposite, actually.
