Apparently this is just the opposite with my Deere 8310R system. When I use it with an Ag Leader InCommand 1200 and their Steer Command through the Deere CAN bus I MUST use the Deere switch in the Command Arm or the screen Icon. This is fine but I don't think I could use another switch on that tractor if I wanted to.
- correct. On a CAN based steering system, you are not engaging the 3rd party system. You are actually engaging the built in steering system on the tractor itself. All your 3rd party system is doing is sending a left/right and curvature/radius command. That’s why you have to use the OEM switch. Additionally, the actual valve calibration is also part of the tractors steering system.
At least the R series just have a rocker switch in the armrest that you could wire another switch to, if needed. |
