This YouTube explains some of the thinking.

I realize there are extremes of believing the whole thing is a hoax, or the thing will kill 90% of us, so I’m not saying you have to believe what he says.

But the math of the lily pads at the 2:30 mark is interesting, we are no where near the big upslope of the Curve yet. The deal is if this plays out, suddenly out of nowhere people will start falling down in big bunches. The math kind of proves that our, unless something different alters that math.

In math terms, we are getting to the point we probably can’t stop the big curve, but we can delay it. Delaying it several weeks gives folk time to build more ventilators, produce more drugs, test more combinations of drugs that are effective.

Or, something comes out of left field and derails the virus and it falls by the wayside naturally. Nothing stands out as doing that at this time?

Testing, testing, testing.... it really doesn’t matter who gets tested and who doesn’t. Its pretty useless. Testing does nothing to prevent this.

That upslope in cases is coming. It would be nice to flatten it out, or delay it, to give folk more time to cope with the peak outbreak. When, not if, it comes.
