Subject: RE: These ethanol plants closing is bad

west central MN

It is not the low price of crude or gasoline that is driving the ethanol price down. It is the lack of demand. There is way less driving now with a lot of business closed and a lot more working from home. Nobody is going anywhere or traveling so there is less gas being used. With less gas being used there is less blending. I have heard that fuel consumption is down possible 40%. Normally cheap gas promotes more driving and then when more gallons of gas are sold there is more need to blend the ethanol with the gas. The storage tanks are also getting full also so they are running out of room to put the processed ethanol.
