WhenCorn is processed through an ethanol plant the starch/energy is concentrated in the ethanol, and the byproduct DDG is a protein source.

So when DDG is removed from a pig ration, a large percentage is replaced with some source of amino. Acid whether that be soymeal or a synthetic.

Today’s soymeal price is the highest it’s been in a couple years. Not much time the last 5 years above 330/ton
