Subject: RE: N credit for unharvested Soybeans

Jefferson, SD
I'm worried about carbon tie up as these break down. I have a few hundred acres that still have standing beans due to the late river flood. Most are still standing and the top half of the plant has lots of beans still in the pod. These will hit the ground either by tillage or the planter knocking them down. I'm going to start out with my corn on corn management approach. I plan to pull soil samples as soon as the ground is fit and will pull another round after the corn is up.
