Honest question here by an ignorant cash cropper....
I really enjoy this board and after reading the recent posts about huge packer margins I had a question.
What are the packer's costs to move boxed beef out the door? Gross margins are $500+/head, what is the net on something like that?

I think you are asking for a gross dollar per head number? For them to process. What are thier total expenses..... Sadlry I don't know the answer. But I don't think everyone is getting your question.
My wag is 100 to 200. So they are clearing 300 in a short amount of time compared to feeding a critter for 6 months to a yr or cow guys getting one calf a yr per cow. |
