When my son played high school baseball our fields wasn’t tiled but a nearby town had done theirs, not sure on spacing but heard they had put maybe 1’ pea gravel on top of tile then dirt, I’m sure fairly shallow, I just remember once we played mid afternoon after a morning rain, our field wouldn’t have been ready, I was pretty impressed.
