Southwest Illinois | Around here(St. Louis area and many areas outside of here) are going to synthetic style infields. Turface, etc. You basically tile the area around the infield and install a couple surface drains. Generally they can get a decent rain and be playing after 4 hours or sun and breeze. Several local high schools have it as well as a couple top facilities and IMO getting rid of the clay is the answer. | |
