Subject: RE: Big dewatering pump question

Northwest Illinois
I take care of 4 different setups. 12”-24”. Not one of them has cement floors or rock. If pumps are shut off for long periods of time, the water is dirty for a bit. I’d say most of the pumps are 1-2’ of the bottom of the ditch. Most of the areas happen to be heavy clay subsoil and the silt acts like slop on top of the clay. It will eventually wear the prop blades down but might take 20 years. Most of them are built into or sitting on structures hanging in the water. What brand of pump? I’ve been working with Knip welding from demotte Indiana on mine.
