Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | I cooked on some form of electric cooktop from the day we got married 49 years ago......from the old coil type, to Corning smooth top, to regular glass top. I learned to cook on gas as a kid and hated every second of trying to be a decent cook with those darn electrics. My statement was that I wanted to live long enough to be able to get a gas cooktop. We finally redid the kitchen in 2007 and sure enough.....I got my gas cooktop! Love it! Will never willingly go back to electric. For me, heat control is so much easier on gas, and if things are cooking too fast or too slow or the taters are boiling over, simply turning the knob makes a difference.....I don't have to wait for it to heat or cool.
