The induction ranges are safer too, as it only heats when a steel or iron pot or skillet is on the burner unit. But they are more expensive and that high tech stuff can be expensive to fix if it fails.

My son is dealing with a fancy "professional" gas range that has an oven that does not work after two attempted repairs. So beware of Chinese made NXR ranges sold by Lowes and others.
