Altoona, WI | I predict that will be changing in the next few years. Apple produces their own chips for iPhones and iPads. The latest processors in the iPad Pro series will give desktop class processors a run for their money. I believe that Apple made the switch to Intel simply so a user could dual boot their Mac into MacOS or Windows. Since the driving trend is mobile, and Windows is becoming less and less relevant all the time, that incentive is disappearing. There is speculation that Apple will be switching their desktops over to their own chips and I believe that will be happening.
