They did a study in Australia several years back. They found that 1 acre of pasture absorbs as much methane in 1 day as a cow produces in 1 year. As long as the sod isn't tilled the methane stays put. Around here stocking is 2-3 acre per cow, so we are sinking a lot more methane than the cows are making.
