I live in the land of tree's, and it sours soil. Clear off the trees and its prime blueberry land.

Unless its going in as ash it just doesn't do the land any favours. There was a guy recently trying to clear a large tract (1500ac) he brought in those big mulchers and just munched everything into the soil. It nose dived his PH into the low 4's! To the point he gave up on it and walked away, and he's the type to have money to work with.

We have used sawdust a lot back in the day, because it was plentiful and cheap. I liked using it because its nice to work with, I just wish it was better for the ground.
