Me, I like the industry so I’d hang around the fringes. Maybe go back to school and get a PhD, or look for a research engineer position.

If you like the industry but are tired of the decisions, there are lots of ways to hang around. If you are ready for a change, the world is your oyster! Lots of enjoyable opportunities out there.

My uncle knew a couple who worked on Wall Street for a couple decades, then got tired of the grind, bought a motorcycle and a moving truck, and moved people across the country for a decade, always taking a day or two to see the sites at the end of each move (bike in the nose of the trailer). After 10 years of that, they went back to the white collar world.
