I think it is 1/4 NPT charge with plain schrader valve. I dunno about holding charge. All I have would be air to test it. I could see if it holds for a day or so? If it doesn't hold, it is full of air now. $50, as is where is no warrantee expressed or implied It will do whatever you can make it do.
