Subject: RE: LSW vs Tracks for Planting?

My thoughts would be along these lines; we also use a 765 for planting and spraying with new 18” tracks. Carry 500 gallons in saddle tanks. No experience with LSW’s. That being said, and no mention of row crop work with the Cat, I’d do the math on a set of 24” and 30” tracks. Leaning towards the 30’s. Center them in the row, and you’ll be planting right on the edge, but not in the track itself. The flotation should be pretty amazing, no stunted rows, most economical route to go. Your used tracks if in good shape bring surprisingly good money. If not used in standing crops, this is the route I’d go before spending all that money on lsw’s.
