I would zone it from the exsisting furnace I did mine last summer never had such an even heat and ac from first to second floor wasn’t cheap but in my opinion was the right choice, I was going to install a mini split but didn’t want the lines tuning up the side of the house I didn’t like the looks of it, also I didn’t want another unit to maintain and worry about, I installed a two stage heat pump my house is total electric and my highest electric bill last winter was 375 heating 2350 sq feet I wasn’t complaining the upstairs and down stairs were exactly the same temp.
