Southeast South Dakota | Remember there is no right answer, and no one best wa for everyone. Couple of questions I have
Do you have good enough upload speed at your "base" to share videos of the internet (like android access)?
Do you have more than one user?
For the android part I think I would use a remote access program like google chrome remote desktop to just "see" the home computer" from the android device
Does everything "need" to be online 24/7?
Also, in this day and age of ransomware - I would like a not always connected form of backup
Also what speed (SSD?) and amount of storage and data do you have?
I don't do videos, mainly data and reference, but if it were me,
I would turn off the laptop unless it is in use. Use the desktop as an always on, home base for the data. And use the NAS once a day? week? month? Just fire it up - do a backup - and turn it off.
Multiple copies are the key to backups. Also, is lightning/fire/criminals hit your office and fries everything , are these backups stored a couple feet apart or far from one another so you have one left.
If the video streaming online is a big deal, some way of getting them stored on the cloud may be better, but probably not cheaper.
