If you have XP Pro on the computer now and run the Ubuntu installation, it will automatically install it dual boot, it you want it to. Just follow the installation instructions. I am posting this with Ubuntu now in a laptop that also has XP Pro installed. Nice not to have to worry about viruses and such while on the internet.
