Nothing wrong with that system for constant rate application, but since you say it is worn out and needs rebuilt anyway, there is no better time to eliminate many maintenance points by ditching the whole system and converting to a hydraulic drive centrifugal pump and a rate controller. Much, much simpler, and much less to wear out/go wrong. Whatever you do, DO NOT complicate it by adding an expensive complicated hydraulic drive motor to a ground drive pump. With a centrifugal pump and rate controller, you can easily set and control your rate regardless of speed, and use variable rate prescriptions when you want to. Used Deere screen, receiver, and rate controller is not that expensive, and is compatible with Raven valves and harnesses, and can be used on other equipment throughout the entire production/harvest seasons. | |
