I don’t understand your thoughts on the packers logic. I think most of it is just the natural get more efficient or get out that we are seeing in just about any commodity.
Ag is headed in two directions. Bigger and local/consumer direct and if your someplace in between I don’t think it’s a good place to be.
I don’t want to really get bigger but cutting out middle men is my mission this year to regain more of that markup they keep.
Going direct to JBS gets me cheap freight there and no sale barn commissions. Between the two of those it’s almost another $1000 in my pocket on each group of 36.
