The info about how long for tile to sit outside is from the people who make it. The way I understand it that black is the preferred color. Standard color is black. The pellet pieces of plastic to make the tile can easily be any color. The sun sends more than just sunlight. Sunlight is just what we see. "Radiation from the Sun, which is more popularly known as sunlight, is a mixture of electromagnetic waves ranging from infrared (IR) to ultraviolet rays (UV). It of course includes visible light, which is in between IR and UV in the electromagnetic spectrum" I do not understand but my best description is just because the colors are all reflected which that gives us the white appearance does not mean the uv or whatever makes the plastic tile brittle is also reflected.
