West Central IL | The way I understand it. Black tile has a shelf life of one year in the sun. White tile is less. Black tile reflects the harmful sun rays better than the white. You could cut a piece off of it and store it inside out of the sun and after the year is up cut a piece off the tile sitting in the sun and take it to manufacture to have it tested. Basically the sun will make more brittle and likely to crack. I normally take tile from outside and store it inside during the summer if I can. I have had a little bit of 12" single wall tile sitting outside for more than 5 years and it failed miserably in the test. It was only 100' or so, so I will not use it.
