You're comment about winning a war to come down on the right side of history caught my eye. I had the privilege, as well as thousands more, of fighting a war we were not allowed to win. It would be interesting to know what my grandkids will read.
As I get older and have more time on my hands I am finding that I am thinking back more to that miserable year with the 4 th infantry division in the central highlands of Vietnam. I was discharged out of the army in 1970 at fort Riley Kansas and came back to a young beautiful wife and tried to resume farming and a small trucking business that I was forced to leave by being drafted. I was lucky to put most of my war experience out of my mind as I was very busy on farm that I left. Since I have had health issues and am retired I now find myself reliving that time of my life occasionally.
