SE VA/NE NC | If the gears are straight cut then they have no direction. If they sre helical cut, then they have a drive side and coast side. The coast side is weaker than drive. How much, im not sure. It would probably onlu be an issue in a shock load. A lot of Dana 60 frontendd in Ford trucks have the gesrs running forward on the coasy side, just so they could use the same gears as the low pinion pass. side drop Chevy axles. I guess they assumed 4x4 wasnt used enough to make it a problem. | |
