Them short ones sure are cute. They don't gain what they say they do. Stock talk is about the same as the notill guys on crop talk. This and this is so great that everyone needs to do it. Just like our soils can bankrupt a notiller, southern plains feeders can kill a line of cattle. There isn't any paddycaking going on down here. Calves better gain hard on momma with nothing added. No creep and no silage or anything else but range cubes for momma. They better grade well 150 days later. If they don't, we failed. Those small cattle are just getting started good on feed while we are getting ready to slaughter.

We have cows that weigh based on the groceries they get. Some may be 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400. Depends on how far east or west they are. Not their genetics to be small.
