SW So Dakota | A few years ago the guy that rents my brothers pasture told me I had a cow in his herd across the fence. So I opened the gate to start looking for one black cow in a herd of 500 black cows. This guys cows are similar to the cows we used to have, big framed and not a lot of capacity, likely due to a percentage of Simmental in his genetics. I'm driving through cows for 20 minutes when I see a cow in the distance, probably 300 yards away and I say to myself now there's my kind of cow. What do you know it's my cow.
I'm not saying which style of Angus cow is better or worse just that there is so much difference within the breed to choose from. Just depends on your preference. If my neighbor had been looking through our herd for his missing cow he would probably be saying the same thing when he spotted his cow.
