Northern New York | Several years ago my family and I planned a trip to Gettysburg. Made hotel reservations for a room at a major chain through one of those online booking sites. Had paper conformation when we arrived at hotel.
Hotel had no reservation. I couldn't understand as I had conformation in my hands. Receptionist said I needed to take it up with the booking agent as it was with them, not the hotel.
Receptionist did help us and got us another room in the end but it was a nervous few minutes as we tried to sort it out.
He later told me hereafter to call and book directly with the hotel, the rates are usually cheaper that way and less chance for a screw up. Not sure if that is true or not but that is what I have done ever since. | |
