In Lawrence County the city had multiple wells, 1 old well was always the problem with Nitrates. It pulled water from a different zone than the others. Drilled new well and shut down the bad well several years ago and haven't had a problem since. Lot of factors involved with Nitrates in water that are not truly understood, its just easy to blame farmers.
