ehoff - 2/10/2019 08:34 If you have a spring where mineralization is poor or your pool of available sulfur is very low due to other factors you need sulfate early. Beans need sulfur early. Mineralization can provide late. Ats may be the preferred form as you get both sulfate and elemental. Think through availability and the factors that drive it. Every soil is different. Every year is different. When purchasing and applying fertility think through source and timing as they relate to availability. [emphasis added] No, ATS is only sulfate form. There's no elemental there. You might be thinking of MESZ. Some sulfate early is desirable, yes, but soybeans don't use much for the first month. Nor does vegetative growth in soybeans equate to yield -- somewhat the opposite, actually. |
