A year or two ago I got as far as a carbon fiber pole, the agleader bracket that screws onto the 5/8” bolt to hold a 6500 relay, the NMEA-BT dongle, and an iPad app for point data collection (iCTMGIS Pro). RAM mount to hold a Tough Tray to hold the iPAD. Use a second base station harness to provide power and hook up the Bluetooth single.

I stalled out at the battery.

It was a little unwieldy but I think serviceable, if there were a way to secure a battery so it wouldn’t flap around. I was a bit nervous about frying something with the battery shorting or something.

I thought about just wearing a vest with the battery it in but that’s a bit clumsy when you are traipsing around in the brush. We used to use those small sealed lead acid batteries with the bent spades on top in weather stations and they seemed to handle deep discharges well.
