| Thanks for all the responses. I’m not sure what the deal is with the $2.50/bu pricing I received as I thought there would be more discounts earlier in the year. Looks like I need to look at GSI and Superior to see about lower pricing and perhaps a larger bin. Anyone have feedback on Sioux bins?
I’ve researched the vertical unload option and it seems many of them are not very reliable and break down frequently so maybe best to go without it. What kind of spreader do you guys recommend and will it help spread out the fines so I won’t have to take any loads out immediately after filling the bin? What are best practices for running the fans before winter hits? Do you usually quit running the fans when temps get down in the 20s? Then do you start running the fans again in the spring to keep the grain from spoiling? Also, what moisture tester (brand/model #) do you recommend for checking the grain as it dries? | |
