Subject: Grain Bin Pricing/Options

I’ve been getting pricing for grain bins from Brock and Sukup and the pricing is coming in at about $2.50/bu. The bin size I’m looking at is a 36’ 7 ring that holds about 24,000 bu peaked. The options that are included: stairs, drying floor, 8” powersweep, 8” vertical unload, 10hp centrifugal fan, labor, and concrete. Site work and electrical are not included. Does this pricing ($60,000) seem a little high for this size bin? Also, would I be able to do any natural air drying of corn in this bin if I put it in at 18% moisture? Without a grain spreader, would I have any issues getting air flow thru the center where all the fines will be? If I wanted to store corn or beans in this bin for 6-8 months, are there any other options I should be looking at?
