Subject: RE: Wrapped Dry Hay

Wisconsin
They seemed like pretty tight bales and when I pulled some out at the auction it looked like dry hay. For the most part they didn't seem a lot heavier than other 4 x 5 bales I've purchased. It could be that some are wetter than others though and maybe that's why they were wrapped. Of the last two I've fed the first one was definitely dry inside, but the last one seemed a little damp in the middle.

I have them stacked north-south like suggested above. I could go through them and feed the heavier ones first. Other than that is there anything I can do? Would it help if I had them individually wrapped now? I think they will be OK for a while, but am worried that they will mold when it warms up.
