Subject: RE: Foliar Feeding Potash

Northwest Illinois
I’ve been doing some reading on the subject more for fertigation and have read that white potash works better than red when making a solution. KCl is best soluble at 68 degrees and KNO3 is even more soluble. I was going to try white kcl. I thought about running my pressure washer into a tanker to get hot water and dumping 100 lbs per 100 gallons in the top of the tank using a seed pro box. I would be running pump on the tanker the whole time. It would have to be done all day to get any lbs on the field. Hopefully someone else will chime in. From what I’ve read it is very doable, but could be time consuming to get any lbs out there. Maintaining the warm water would be key plus agitation to keep in a solution. The warmer the water the more soluble the KCl will be, but don’t know the magic number. Your well water is probably 20 degrees warmer than mine just being from the south.
