I watched a neighbor of mine ask our landlord at the reception after his mother's funeral inquire if he would rent out a half section that bordered him.  Just floored me and the old man and actually made us uncomfortable.  It didn't bother us at the time because it was in CRP and would be for awhile and we just didn't have any interest in it.  Fast forward to now, the landlord's daughter owns it, she is leasing it to us, and the said neighbor has passed on.
